9 m Operable Partition Wall — Hotel Conference Hall Installation

It is 9m high partition wall, all panel was installed by professional team.

Step 1 — Site Preparation and Layout Marking

The installation team arrived on-site and conducted a thorough survey of the conference hall ceiling structure. Using laser levels and measuring tapes, they marked the exact track alignment along the full span of the opening, ensuring every anchor point corresponded to the structural steel above. Protective flooring covers were laid to prevent damage during heavy panel handling.

Tip: Always verify ceiling load-bearing capacity before marking track positions — a 9-metre-high partition generates significant point loads at each trolley anchor.

Step 2 — Overhead Track and Trolley Assembly

With the layout confirmed, the team bolted the aluminium track system to the pre-welded steel angle brackets embedded in the ceiling. Each trolley carrier was then threaded onto the track and tested for smooth manual travel. The track was carefully leveled to within 2 mm tolerance across its entire length to guarantee effortless panel movement later.

Tip: Use a water level or digital inclinometer at every bracket junction — even a slight slope will cause panels to drift open or resist pushing over time.

Step 3 — Panel Lifting and Sequential Hanging

The 9-metre-high operable panels were lifted one by one using a motorised panel lifter designed for this exact purpose. Each panel was tilted into the vertical orientation, guided onto the trolley carriers, and the top seal mechanism was engaged. The team worked from one end of the track to the other, hanging panels in the predetermined stacking sequence to match the floor pocket alignment.

Tip: Never attempt to lift panels manually at this height — a single 9m panel can exceed 120 kg, and the lifter ensures both safety and precise trolley engagement.

Step 4 — Seal Engagement and Acoustic Alignment

Once all panels were hung, the team actuated each panel's top and bottom seal mechanisms. The rubber seals expanded to contact the floor and ceiling, creating the acoustic barrier. The inter-panel vertical compression seals were also checked — each must engage firmly when the adjacent panel is pushed into position. Any panel showing uneven seal contact was re-hung and re-leveled.

Tip: Run a sound transmission test between compartments after seal engagement — a noticeable drop in STC rating usually indicates a seal gap that needs adjustment.

Step 5 — Final Commissioning and Handover

The completed operable wall was cycled through its full open-close sequence multiple times to confirm smooth trolley travel and consistent seal engagement. The professional team documented each panel's position, verified the track alignment post-installation, and trained the hotel's facility staff on daily operation and basic maintenance. A handover report with warranty details and a maintenance schedule was provided to the client.

Tip: Schedule a follow-up inspection after 30 days of use — initial settling may require minor seal pressure adjustments to maintain optimal acoustic performance.
